What You Get
Free corporate tax registration
We register your company with the Federal Tax Authority and obtain your corporate tax registration, at no charge, for any company we incorporate. We already hold everything the FTA asks for, so charging you again to retype it would be hard to justify.
Free FTA file update
If your trade licence has just been renewed, amended, or your partners or shareholders have changed, the details held on your FTA file need to match. We make those updates free of charge.
Why Registration Is Not Optional
Corporate tax registration is a requirement for UAE companies, and it applies whether or not any tax turns out to be payable. That includes businesses comfortably under the Small Business Relief threshold, and it includes free zone companies expecting to qualify for the 0% rate on qualifying income. The obligation is to register. What rate you end up paying is a separate question, answered later.
The rates themselves are straightforward: 0% on taxable income up to AED 375,000 and 9% above it. A Qualifying Free Zone Person can reach 0% on qualifying income, but only while it meets the conditions — holding a free zone licence does not make it automatic.
Late registration carries a penalty
The FTA applies an administrative penalty for registering after the deadline that applies to your company. The deadline depends on when your licence was issued, which is exactly the sort of detail that gets missed. We check yours and tell you where you stand before anything is filed.
When Your FTA File Needs Updating
Your FTA record is supposed to reflect your company as it actually is. When the trade licence changes and the FTA file does not, the two disagree — and that mismatch surfaces at the worst possible moment, usually during a filing or a review. These are the events that trigger it:
- Licence renewal — the licence number or expiry on file is now out of date
- Licence amendment — a change of trade name, activity, or legal form
- Partnership or shareholder change — someone joining, leaving, or a change in shareholding
- A change of registered address or business premises
- A change of authorised signatory or the person managing the tax file
- Contact details — the email and number the FTA uses to reach you
There is a notification window
Changes to registered details have to be notified to the FTA within a set period from the change, not whenever it is convenient. If your licence changed recently, this is worth dealing with now rather than at your next filing.
Who Qualifies
For the free registration
- Any company incorporated by Pistos Group
- Mainland or free zone
- New companies and ones we have formed previously
For the free FTA file update
- Your licence has recently been renewed, updated or amended
- Or a partnership or shareholding change has gone through
- Your company is already registered with the FTA
Not incorporated with us? Tell us anyway. We will quote the registration, and it is not expensive — the honest answer is usually worth more to you than the discount.
What Happens Next
- You send your name and number. That is the whole form.
- We call you back the same working day and confirm which of the two offers applies to you.
- We ask for the documents — trade licence, Emirates ID and passport for the owners, and the amendment paperwork if your licence has changed.
- We file it with the Federal Tax Authority and send you the confirmation.
- You get told what is due and when, so the first return is not a surprise.
After Registration
Registration is the start of an obligation, not the end of one. Returns have to be filed, records kept, and the position reviewed when the business changes. Our sister company The One Accountant handles the filings, the bookkeeping behind them, and the VAT side where it applies. There is no requirement to use them — plenty of clients take the free registration and keep their own accountant.
Questions About This Offer
Is the corporate tax registration really free?
Yes, for any company we incorporate. We are already filing your incorporation documents and we already hold everything the FTA asks for, so charging you again to retype it would be hard to justify. There is no tie-in and no obligation to use our accounting service afterwards.
Do I have to register if I will not owe any tax?
Yes. Registration is a requirement whether or not tax turns out to be payable. That includes businesses under the Small Business Relief threshold and free zone companies expecting the 0% rate on qualifying income. The obligation is to register; the rate is a separate question answered later.
What are the corporate tax rates?
0% on taxable income up to AED 375,000 and 9% above it. A Qualifying Free Zone Person can reach 0% on qualifying income, but only while it meets the conditions — holding a free zone licence does not make it automatic.
What is an FTA file update, and why does it matter?
Your FTA record is meant to reflect your company as it actually is. When the trade licence changes and the file does not, the two disagree — and that mismatch tends to surface during a filing or a review rather than at a convenient moment.
Which changes mean my FTA file needs updating?
A licence renewal, a licence amendment such as a change of trade name, activity or legal form, a partnership or shareholding change, a change of registered address, a change of authorised signatory, or a change to the contact details the FTA uses to reach you.
Is the FTA file update free for everyone?
It is free where your licence has recently been renewed, updated or amended, or a partnership change has gone through, and your company is already registered with the FTA. Send your details and we will confirm whether yours qualifies before any work starts.
What happens if I register late?
The FTA applies an administrative penalty for registering after the deadline that applies to your company. The deadline depends on when your licence was issued, which is exactly the detail that gets missed. We check yours and tell you where you stand before anything is filed.
What do you need from me?
To start, your name and a mobile number. Once we have confirmed you qualify, we will ask for the trade licence, Emirates ID and passport copies for the owners, and the amendment paperwork if your licence has changed.
I did not incorporate with Pistos. Can I still use you?
Yes. The registration would be quoted rather than free, and it is not expensive. Tell us the situation and we will give you a figure and an honest view of whether you need anything else.
Do I have to use your accountants afterwards?
No. Returns, bookkeeping and VAT are handled by our sister company The One Accountant if you want them, and plenty of clients take the free registration and keep their own accountant. The offer does not depend on it.
Not Covered Above? Ask Us.
Send the question as you would ask it on the phone. One of the team answers it properly — not a template, and not a sales call dressed up as an answer.
